Quality Standard 2
Teachers establish a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students.
Element A Teachers foster a predictable learning environment characterized by acceptable student behavior and efficient use of time in which each student has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults and peers.
Reasoning Statement: My classroom management plan demonstrates how I expect myself to provide a nurturing, caring, and safe environment for my students. My plan for managing my classroom environment includes: physical space, non-instructional and instructional routines, and techniques I will use in response to positive and negative student behaviors. Furthermore, linked in my management plan is a jamboard which includes my policies on attendance, grading, late work, participation, and leadership opportunities (extra credit). I envision students looking over the jamboard at the beginning of the semester which will help foster predictability and consistency.

Element B Teachers demonstrate an awareness of, a commitment to, and a respect for multiple aspects of diversity, while working toward common goals as a community of learners.
Reasoning Statement: I am passionate about meeting students with diverse needs and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy. Most of my research has been in supporting special needs learners and in Culturally Responsive Pedagogy. I have included 6 artifacts which all demonstrate that I respect multiple aspects of diversity. Additionally, these artifacts show that I have a commitment to learning more about diversity and the various learning needs of students in my classroom.

Element C Teachers engage students as individuals, including those with diverse needs and interests, across a range of ability levels by adapting their teaching for the benefit of all students.
Reasoning Statement: In this project I did for EDUC331, I considered diverse learning needs of students and adapted the lesson in multiple ways. Artifact 1 shows considerations for students with IEPs or 504's (unspecified). In the lesson I created choice by having students choose from graphic organizers. Artifact 2 shows the graphic organizer options. Additionally, I included my response to the EDUC350 discussion post Integrated Services. In the discussion post I talk specifically about accommodations that I would include in my own classroom.

Element D Teachers work collaboratively with the families and/or significant adults for the benefit of students.
Reasoning Statement: My meeting reflection documents a project that I collaboratively worked on with other music educators in Northern Colorado. The project was to judge auditions for the Combined League Honor Choir. My reflection covers my responsibilities as well as my ability to work collaboratively with other educators for the benefit of students.
